Girls Aloud
One of the most successful British girl groups of the 21st century, Girls Aloud were formed on the ITV reality series Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. Consisting of Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl (who’s had more name changes than Prince), they racked up 20 consecutive top 10 singles in the United Kingdom, including four number ones.
After announcing a hiatus in 2009 to pursue solo projects, the group reunited in 2012 for a tenth-anniversary greatest hits album, Ten, but disbanded for good in March 2013 following the conclusion of the Ten: The Hits Tour.
Harding died of breast cancer in September 2021, but the remaining members reformed to commemorate their 20th anniversary.
