A three-way collaboration between three of the world’s biggest electronic music acts – German DJ Robin Schulz, French DJ David Guetta, and American production trio Cheat Codes – yields the late-2016 hit, “Shed a Light”.
Featuring the vocals of Trevor Dahl, the singer of Cheat Codes, “Shed a Light” is a song about a proposition of love by the male singer to his partner. The music video, released in early 2017, takes the light metaphor very literally, depicting a male astronaut being rescued from an encroaching blackness by his female astronaut partner.
“Shed a Light” is the first collaboration between all three megastars and tops off a breakout year for Cheat Codes, with “Sex”, their collaboration with Kris Kross Amsterdam, and “Let Me Hold You”, their collaboration with Dante Klein.
Meanwhile, “Shed a Light” is Schulz’s first and only original release of 2016 and Guetta’s fourth and final, after “Would I Lie To You?”, “No Worries”, and “This One’s For You”.
