Samantha Jade Gibbs (born 18 April 1987) is an Australian singer, songwriter, actress and former child model from Perth, Western Australia.
Signed to Jive/Zomba in 2006, she was dropped after two singles: ‘Step Up’ and ‘Turn Around’ failed to chart. A video for a third single ‘Eyes On Me’ [Timbaland/Jim Beanz/Ryan Tedder] was nearly shot after labelmate Britney’s ‘Piece Of Me’ visuals but was cancelled when Britney arrived 12 hours late. The single was subsequently also cancelled. Tracks recorded for the album were eventually given to artists such as JoJo, Tata Young, Tiffany Evans and Ashley Tisdale.
On 20 November, 2012 Gibbs won the fourth season of The X Factor Australia. She subsequently signed with Sony Music Australia and released her winner’s single “What You’ve Done to Me”. She went on to release her first album of original material ‘Nine’ in 2015.
