Jason Derulo (born Jason Joel Desrouleaux), is an American singer-songwriter and dancer. Since the start of his career as a solo recording artist in 2009, Jason has sold over 30 million singles and has achieved four Top 5 singles, including “Wiggle,” “Talk Dirty,” “In My Head,” and “Whatcha Say.” He is known for singing his name at he beginning of many of his songs.
After producing records and writing songs for several artists, Derulo signed to minor recording label Beluga Heights. After Beluga Heights became part of the Warner Music Group, Derulo released his debut single “Whatcha Say” in May 2009. It sold over five million digital downloads, gaining an RIAA certification of triple platinum, and reaching number 1 in the U.S. and New Zealand. His debut album, Jason Derulo, was released on March 2, 2010.
He released his second studio album, Future History, on September 16, 2011. It was preceded by the release of the UK number-one single “Don’t Wanna Go Home.”
Derulo’s third international album, Tattoos, was released on September 24, 2013 featuring the singles “Marry Me”, “Trumpets”, “Talk Dirty”, and “The Other Side”. Derulo reissued the album a year later under the name Talk Dirty with some additional songs and the single “Wiggle”.
His fourth album Everything is 4 was released on June 2, 2015 featuring the lead single “Want to Want Me”. It was released on March 9, 2015, and topped charts worldwide. It also reached #6 in the US. A year later he released a compilation album, “Platinum Hits” featuring his 11 platinum songs plus the single Kiss the Sky.
From 2017 to 2019, Derulo released singles and collaborations, most notably “Swalla”, “Colors”, and “Goodbye”.
In 2019, Derulo released “2 Sides (Side 1)”, the first of 2 sets of EPs. The second side was set to release in 2020, but has been delayed due to disputes with Warner Brothers.
