The Cambridge University Press Catalogue of Meteorites lists 14 documented lumps of interstellar mineral and metal that hit the United States in the year 1975. But lumbering Motor City quartet Space Rock had been named after none of those. Vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter George Bisinov thought the name simply “sounded cool.” Gravitational forces surrounding a Detroit bar owned by Bisinov and his brother brought Space Rock together in the early 1970s.
