DR: Tell us a lil bout yourself. Like how did u get into the whole DJ-ing deal? What made you start DJ-ing?
MB: I was lucky enough to be born into a family where music was important, our house was always full of good songs. I started out as a Dj and working in record stores (very Hi-Fidelity) and then gradually realised that i wanted to create my own music. As for being a Dj it was just a love of music really. I know a few dj’s have said this before but it was really just a way of playing music that you thought was amazing to people that may not of heard it. I worked in record shops when i left school, and it was like my dream job… “have you heard this?? Did you get that??” . If i wasn’t a dj id still be boring you all now playing you music that i think is great haha!!
What kind of music do you like? and what’s your fave songs at the moment?
Its cliché i know but i love all types of music, i think you’ve got to. And with the internet now its so easy to find….. i can lose a good 4 hours trawling through websites finding some amazing stuff. My real passion is for disco & soul though, as much as you think you know there are always more treasures to find. I have too many favourites to mention at the moment but on repeat are the Adele CD, Syreeta “Move it do it”, Cassius “I love you so” , Chilly Gonzales “U can dance” and anything by Burt Bacharach.
What can party goers look out for at Songkran 5?
Hopefully a good time ha ha! A mix of some songs you know and some you don’t… and some you’ve never heard because we’ve just made them !! Any embarrassing/exciting spinning experiences?
Ha too many to mention…im joking!! The embarrassing ones usually involve alcohol or a broken cd. But the exciting ones make up for them.
What can fans look out for in there near future from you?
More gigs, more remixes and some new projects. I’m just finishing a track with Jeanie Tracy, Wayne G & Andy Allder which I’m really excited about . Also remixes forthcoming from Adele, the Wanted, and many more. Life is good… |
