Taylor Swifts Red became the fastest-selling album in over a decade after selling 1.28 million copies in its first week, and earned Swift her third number one album on the Billboard 200.

Red has the second highest first week sum by a female artist, only behind Britney Spears' Oops!… I Did It Again which opened with 1.3 million units.

Red had the biggest sales week in 2012 and outsold the top 52 albums in the Billboard 200 on its first week.

It has also the biggest one week sales for a country album beating Garth Brooks' Double Live which sold 1.085 million copies in 1998.

Red sold 465,000 digital copies in its first week in the US, which is the second biggest after Lady Gaga's Born This Way (2011).

It sold around 1.459 million copies worldwide in its first week of sales.

In its second week on the Billboard 200, the album remained at number one and sold 344,000 copies (down 72%).

The Next week Red held atop the Billboard 200 and sold a further 196,000 copies (down 43%) which brought its sales to 1.749 million, thus ranking the third biggest selling album of 2012 behind Adele's 21 and One Direction's Up All Night.

In its seventh week, Red climbed back to number one on the Billboard 200 selling 167,000 and with that, Swift is now tied with Jay-Z and Whitney Houston for fourth most-weeks at number one on the Billboard 200 since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking in 1991.

Swift held the Billboard 200 top spot the next two weeks, thus making Swift as the first artist since The Beatles in 1969 to log six or more weeks at number one with three consecutive studio albums, following Fearless (eleven weeks) and Speak Now (six weeks).

Also, this is the third time that Swift has had the number one album in the last week before Christmas, which is traditionally the most competitive week of the year. She also achieved the feat with Fearless in 2008 and Speak Now in 2010.

Red spent its seventh non-consecutive week at number one in the sales week ending Dec 30, 2012, selling 241,000 (down 12%). This gave Swift a total of 24 weeks atop the Billboard 200 throughout her career, tying her with Adele as the woman with most weeks at No. 1 since SoundScan began tabulating the Billboard 200 in May 1991.

Red finished 2012 as the second biggest album despite being out for only two months, selling 311 million. It makes the fourth time she has an album ranked in the year's top three sellers.

As of October 2013 the album has sold 3.83 million copies in the US.

Speak Now debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, its sales of 1,047,000 copies making it just the 16th album in United States history to sell one million copies in a single week.

It was the second biggest debut ever for a female artist — later pushed down to third biggest by Lady Gaga's Born This Way and then fourth by her own album, Red,- the second biggest ever by a country album, the biggest in five and one half years, and the biggest of 2010.

Speak Now also set a new record for the biggest one-week sales tally for an album by a female country artist, surpassing Shania Twain's Up!.

It is Swift's second US number-one album. In its second week on the Billboard 200, the album remained at number one and sold 320,000 copies.

It dropped to number two and sold 212,000 copies in its third week.

In its fourth week, Speak Now dropped to number nine and sold 146,000 copies.
In its fifth week, it rose to number four and sold 241,000 copies.

Speak Now returned to the top spot on its eight week with over 259,000 copies sold.

The album was able to top the Billboard 200 again on the succeeding three weeks, giving a total of six non-consecutive weeks at number one.

After only 10 weeks in release, Speak Now became the third best-selling album of 2010 in the United States, with sales of 2,960,000 copies.

The album had sold 681,000 digital copies as of January 2012, making it the tenth best selling digital album of all time.

On October 25, 2010, the album was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and, as of October 2012, it has sold 4.2 million copies in the US.

It is Swift's third album to reached this plateau, following Taylor Swift and Fearless, making her the first female solo artist to top the 4 million mark with three studio albums in a row in a decade.

All fourteen songs on the album and three bonus tracks have charted on the US Billboard Hot 100, eleven of them charted concurrently making Swift just the third artist in history and first female artist to have over ten concurrent Hot 100 hits.

Speak Now is also the only album in history to spawn seventeen Hot 100 hits. It produced four top ten, seven top twenty, and nine top thirty hits.

As of February 2012, "Mine" sold 2,081,000 copies, "Mean" sold 1,809,000 copies; "Back to December" sold 1,688,000 copies; "Ours" sold 1,224,000; "Sparks Fly" "The Story of Us" and "Speak Now" have sold approximately 841,000 and 500,000 respectively copies.
