| DJ BRIAN C - AS VOTED BY YOU GUYS! This award is very unique to us. And it's one of the awards that matters most on dirrtyremixes! For the last 3 years, we have been supporting regional DJs and also aspiring ones. We do our best to make DJs in this Asian region known by putting their work in the open world! | DR: So how do you feel getting the dirrtiest regional DJ of the year award YET AGAIN? BC: It feels wonderful and amazing that i was chosen again for this year! I am more determined and encourage to explore where my DJ profession can take me this year. I'm certainly in good company with all the asian DJs (Toy, Jay, Big Kid, Louis T, Pilot,etc.) and i hope you all continue supporting us in our various gigs around the asian region! How do you manage to collaborate with Drew G, DJ Big Kid and even Joe Gauthreaux? How's the collaboration process like? Well, a fast internet connection is essential, because we send a lot of big files and most of the time we are all pressed for time. Depending who my collaborator is, sometimes one might do the drums, and i'll do the music part, or i'll edit the Acapella and they do the music, or vice-versa. Each DJ brings his strength to the table and we enhance each other's skills. Drew and Big Kid use Ableton Live while Joe uses Logic 9, both software i'm proficient in. We communicate by whatsapp, facetime or ichat, which is a godsend btw, because we have so many discussions before and during the production. A lot of what i do in remixing came from years of producing music. All the editing, mixing and EQ tricks. DJing helped me create better song structures, buildups and breakdowns. What are your fave songs of 2011? How bout remixed tracks? Too many to mention, but easily the tracks by Rihanna, Britney, Beyonce, Katy, Lady Gaga and Kylie are among them. I also love 'Stronger' by Erick Morillo, 'Louder' by Charice, 'Hello' by Martin Solveig, and then tracks by Kaskade, Tiesto, Sebjak, Hardwell, Alesso, Nicky Romero, Richard Grey, Eddie Thoneick, Michael Woods, EDX and Avicii! Best remixers for me last year are Dave Aude and Kaskade. I love their lush productions and they don't sound the same twice. What do you do besides dj-ing, mixing and putting things together? I don't know if i mentioned this before, but i work as a composer for TV commercials for Hit Productions. We won the 4A's Production House of the Year and 2 Gold medals from Araw Awards, 2 of the biggest Philippine award-giving bodies for advertising. And of course, I also partly own and manage BED Manila, the biggest, only gay dance club in the Philippines, where i am one of the resident DJ's (along with Toy Armada & Jay Santos, my biz partners as well) What do you hope to archive in 2012? More regional gigs this year. I'd love to spin again at Jump Taiwan and Midnight Shift Sydney! Hopefully i can get gigs in HK, Shanghai and Singapore. I am also dreaming of playing for big promoters like HX, G5, and gCircuit! Pick me!!  And of course getting to do more official remixes this time around.
