Luis Fonsi was born in Puerto Rico. He later moved to Florida
and enrolled in Florida State University to study singing. Luis had dreamed of joining Menudo, Latin
American boy band, however, it was not fufilled. However even though his dream crashed, Menudo member Ray Reyes invited him and another
Puerto Rican to sing at a concert with them.
Luis was later discovered by a university music department president who offered him a contract
with a large recording company.
In 1998 he recorded his first CD, Comenzare (I will Begin), it became a hit in Puerto Rico and across Latin America
He also then recorded a duet with Christina Aguilera "Si No Hubiera Conocido" for her Spanish album "Mi Reflejo". Fonsi
then came up with "Amor Secreto" and English album "Fight The Feeling" which was quite expected considering
the amount of time he had spent in Florida, hence his fluency in the language.

For this feature, i would like to feature Luis Fonsi's "No Me Doy Por Vencido" (I Won't Surrender). This track is Luis Fonsi's lead single from his latest album "Palabras del Silencio" (Silence Words?), released in August last year.
This song is a ballad 'bout not giving up in the search for the one who loves him.
The title of this album is probably inspired by the lyrics of this track:
"Este silencio esconde demasiadas palabras"
(Literal translation: This silence hides too many words).
It's such hot song! So hot that it hit number #1 in more than 11 countries! It even charted on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and nominated for 3 Latin Billboard Music Awards.
